What is Uptime Monitoring?

Uptime monitoring is a service that continuously checks your website's availability and notifies you immediately if it goes offline.

The primary goal of website uptime monitoring is to ensure that your website or application is always accessible to your users. If your website is inaccessible, your users may lose their current activity or abandon your site altogether because it's too sluggish or unresponsive.

Moreover, website uptime monitoring is particularly critical for companies that rely on online sales and other transactions.

How to create an Uptime Monitor?

Great news! You'll be able to view all your uptime monitors on one page. If you don't see anything just yet, no need to worry - we'll create one for you.

2. Click on "Create Uptime Monitor"

3. Type the website URL that you want to check

You can easily enter your own website or your competitors' website into MonSpark without worrying about including "https://" or "http://".

4. Give a name to the monitor.

Choosing a wise name for your monitor is important as it will be displayed in notifications, dashboards, and even SMS alerts. Make sure to choose a name that clearly represents the monitor so it can be easily identified. Happy monitoring! :)

5. Select the check interval you need

The check interval determines how often MonSpark will check your website. If the website you're monitoring is crucial, we recommend selecting an interval of every 1 minute to ensure prompt detection of any issues.

6. Create a tag to categorize your monitors (Optional)

Tagging your monitored websites can be helpful for future organization and management. We recommend adding tags for similar websites. If you don't want to add tags right away, no worries! You can always add them later.

7. Click on "Request Settings" (Optional)

Don't be overwhelmed by the various options available to you. You don't need to change any of the settings in this section unless you know you need to.

8. Select the check location you need (Optional)

MonSpark monitors your website with European servers by default, but you can change the server location at any time according to your preference.

9. Click on "Notification Settings" (Optional)

Notifications are the heartbeat of MonSpark and, therefore, your website's pulse. It's important to keep an eye on them to ensure you're promptly notified of any issues with your website.

10. Select third-party channels to get notifications (Optional)

MonSpark offers a range of integrations, such as Slack, Discord, MS Teams, and even phone calls, to ensure that you receive notifications through your preferred channel. You might want to check the option below.

11. Click on "Create Uptime Monitor"

Voila! MonSpark is now monitoring your website 24/7.
